Signing Up and Verifying Your Email

Overview

Anyone can start a ThreadReady shop with a free trial; no card is needed. The trial is one per account: see Billing and plans. Go to Sign up, then verify your email to create your workspace.

Signing up

Sign-up has two steps. First, enter your Email and Full Name and agree to the Terms. Then your shop's details:

• Workspace Name — your shop's name, 2 to 50 characters. Its short form becomes your kiosk address (you can change it later, see Change your kiosk address).
• What does your shop do? and How do customers bring items? — the second sets your kiosk's mode (Both, Shop items only or Customer items only), which you can change later in Settings → Kiosk.
• Have a promo code? — enter it here (see Promo codes). A code that isn't valid is shown under the field.

Click Create Account. The page says Free 14-day trial, or Free 30-day trial when you opened it from another shop's referral link. If your email already had a free trial, the new workspace starts without one and needs a subscription.

If the address already has an account, we don't create another: we email it a reminder with links to sign in and to reset the password.

Verifying your email

There's no password yet: we email you a verification link. Open it and choose your password: your workspace, and its kiosk address, are created then, and you're signed in to it. Only someone who can open your email can set that password, so nobody who signed up with your address before you can get into your shop. The password page also shows the workspace name and any promo or referral code on the request: if one isn't yours, choose Remove next to it, or sign up again. Lost the email? Use Forgot password with the same address and we'll send your verification link again.

Until then there is no workspace and no password, so signing in just says the email or password is incorrect. Under that message, Just signed up? Resend the verification email sends a new link. The link lasts 24 hours, and a newer link replaces any earlier one. If the button in the email doesn't work, copy the link printed under it into your browser. If the verification page shows a workspace name you didn't ask for, sign up again and open the newest email: it replaces that request.

A new password needs at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. Your trial starts when you verify, not when you sign up.

If you never verify

If you sign up but never verify your email address, no workspace is created. We send one reminder after 7 days, and a signup that is still unverified after 30 days is deleted. It is never deleted without that reminder, and always at least 7 days after it; the reminder gives the date. (An older account that was given a workspace before it verified loses that workspace too, if it has no orders and no other members.)
